Back to Back Nominations
Go Media Stadium has once again been recognised on the national stage, being named a finalist for Large Venue of the Year at the 2025 EVANZ Awards.
This honour highlights the venue’s continued excellence in delivering unforgettable experiences and world-class events across both sporting and entertainment.
A Year of Momentum
The past year has been another landmark chapter for Go Media Stadium. Home to the One New Zealand Warriors and Auckland FC, the venue has cemented its reputation as Aotearoa’s most dynamic year-round sporting and entertainment hub.
Over 260,000 rugby league fans flocked to the stadium as the One New Zealand Warriors charged toward a second home NRL Finals appearance in three years, marking another milestone for the club and venue.
Auckland FC’s debut A-League season also drew nearly a quarter of a million fans through the gates. Across 13 home games in their inaugural season, 235,316 supporters filled the stands, with an average attendance of 18,101, the highest home attendance in the entire A-League.
From those record-breaking crowds to unforgettable entertainment moments, including Burna Boy’s first-ever New Zealand performance at the inaugural Afrosoul Festival, hosted at Go Media Stadium with just a week’s notice, this venue has proven it can deliver when it matters most.
Commitment to Excellence
Being named a finalist reflects the collective effort of the dedicated Auckland Stadiums team and our valued partners, who continuously strive to deliver the extraordinary for fans, artists, and athletes alike.
Beyond world-class events, Go Media Stadium has made major strides in sustainability and innovation. The venue recently completed a large-scale solar project, with 1,651 solar panels lining the East and West stands. This installation generates around 800 MWh of renewable energy each year, equivalent to 60 percent of the stadium’s total electricity use, making it NZ’s first stadium solar installation of its kind.
Complementing this, the solar panel installation forms part of the wider decarbonisation progress at Go Media Stadium. This project has included brand new electric heat pumps, bike parking, new LED lighting.
Through these innovations, Go Media Stadium continues to lead the way in sustainable venue management, setting a benchmark for environmentally responsible operations across the industry.
Building on Success
In 2024, Go Media Stadium took home the Large Venue of the Year Award at the EVANZ Awards. This year’s nomination further reinforces its standing as one of the nation’s most loved and busiest venues, delivering exceptional experiences to hundreds of thousands of fans each year.
We look forward to celebrating with others across the industry when the EVANZ Awards are announced later this year, and to acknowledging the incredible teams, partners, and fans who make every event at Go Media Stadium truly special.
