Here's the numbers behind the 2025 Warriors season

A Fortress for Rugby League

Over 260,000 rugby league fans flocked to Go Media Stadium in 2025 as the One New Zealand Warriors charged towards a second home NRL Finals appearance in three years.

Auckland’s Go Media Stadium hosted ten epic home matches throughout the 2025 NRL regular season, plus Saturday’s electric home elimination final against Penrith Panthers. The average attendance over the 11 games was 23,863 per match – the highest ever for a home Warriors season.

Since 2023, Go Media Stadium has been sold out for 26 of the last 31 Auckland-based Warriors NRL games, with two sold-out Finals appearances also delivering maximum crowds. In 2025, nine out of eleven home games sold out, once again setting the benchmark in the NRL.

Crowds Keep Growing

Go Media Stadium was crowned New Zealand’s best large venue in 2024, following a year that included the incredible sellout Warriors season, and 2025 has broken more records.

In total, 262,500 tickets were sold to season members, casual ticket buyers and corporate guests.

Home matches at Go Media Stadium continued to be a magnet for attracting fans from Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and beyond. Ticketing data pointed to 46 per cent of ticket purchases being from outside of Auckland, including seven per cent from overseas.

Record Season and Regional Reach

Tātaki Auckland Unlimited’s Director of Auckland Stadiums James Parkinson said,

“It’s been another incredible One New Zealand Warriors season, which has brought a remarkable energy to Tāmaki Makaurau. Go Media Stadium played its part in hosting thousands of passionate Warriors from all over Aotearoa, as well as an increasing international contingent. Across the 11 home matches this season, these events have delivered regular visitation and economic benefit to Auckland, boosting local hospitality and retail alongside the positivity and cultural impact of the team’s success on the field.”

“The sustained momentum that has built around Warriors matchdays at Go Media Stadium has seen more records broken this year. The season once again culminated with an NRL Finals appearance, another significant weekend hosted at New Zealand’s busiest and best sporting venue”.

Warriors Praise the Fans

One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George said,

“The support this year at Go Media Stadium has been phenomenal. The atmosphere inside our home fortress has been electric all season, propelling us forward on our run to the NRL Finals. The team love playing in front of a full house and we’re thrilled that our total home attendances at Go Media Stadium have grown by 90 per cent since 2019. This season at Go Media Stadium our fans once again proved themselves to be the best in the NRL.”

Success On and Off the Field

The immense season on the field was reflected in huge customer satisfaction off it. Surveys confirmed 91% of match attendees had a great time at Go Media Stadium, as the crowds returned to cheer on the home team time and again.

New sustainability benchmarks were also set, as Go Media Stadium aims to become the greenest venue in New Zealand. More than 1,650 solar panels were installed onto the roof during the Warriors season, which will generate around 60 per cent of the stadium’s total energy usage.

The cleanup operation for 2025 saw more than 80 per cent of waste diverted from landfill to either recycling or compost. That equates to 34,000kg of waste, or 340 replicas of Warriors captain James Fisher-Harris.

Feeding the Faithful

Feeding the faithful fans brought record demand with 120,000 portions of hot food sold and 300,000 beverages. More than 40,000 portions of hot chips were sold by the stadium and thousands more by the variety of food vendors onsite.

Looking Ahead

The event calendar at Go Media Stadium will continue to deliver as the warmer months roll in. Auckland FC return to defend the Premier Plate in the A-League from 25 October, while the Kiwis and Kiwi Ferns take on Samoa in a sizzling double header on Sunday 19 October.

The One New Zealand Warriors will return to Go Media Stadium in 2026.
