Go Media Stadium Named Finalist in Prestigious National Awards

We’re proud to share that Go Media Stadium’s Decarbonisation Project has been selected as a finalist for the Sustainability Initiative of the Year 2025 at the New Zealand Event Awards.

The project, which includes a large-scale solar installation, marks a significant milestone in the venue’s commitment to reducing its carbon emissions and embracing renewable energy. With the installation of over 1,700 solar panels, it's the first stadium project of its kind in Aotearoa.

The solar installation has also been recognised as a finalist in the NZ Energy Excellence Awards in the Low Carbon Future Award category, highlighting its impact on sustainable practices within the events industry.

We’re also excited to celebrate Auckland FC’s debut match vs Brisbane Roar at Go Media Stadium, which has been named a finalist for Sports Event of the Year 2025 at the New Zealand Event Awards.

This match was a piece of history that will be long remembered in New Zealand sporting history. Played in front of a sellout crowd, this was Auckland FC’s first-ever game as a club, with the people of Auckland embracing their new home team. That win on opening day paved the way for the club’s incredible inaugural season which saw them go on to win the Premier Plate in the A-League.

The winners of the NZEEs will be announced in August, while the NZEAs will be announced September 2025.

We look forward to celebrating with others in the industry and acknowledging the incredible teams and partners who made these achievements possible.
