New Shelter Installed at Go Media Stadium to Keep Fans Dry on Their Way Home

Outdoor advertising company Go Media has made it easier, and drier for fans leaving Auckland FC and One NZ Warriors games, thanks to a newly installed shelter outside Go Media Stadium.

Located outside Gate A on Maurice Road, the bus-stop-style structure offers protection from the elements, giving fans a more comfortable wait as they head home after the match.

“It’s a little thing, but it will make getting home from the game a lot easier when the weather is a bit dodgy,” says Go Media Managing Director Mike Gray.

“No one wants to watch their home team win and have the weather rain on their parade. This should help fix that.”

Go Media installed the shelter ahead of the stadiums massive weekend of sport - with Auckland FC’s A-League Semi-Final and the SOLD-OUT One NZ Warriors vs Raiders match. Go Media was an early sponsor of this year’s break out men’s team and has been naming rights sponsor of it's home stadium since May 2023.

Tātaki Auckland Unlimited Director Auckland Stadiums James Parkinson says Go Media has been a tremendous supporter of the venue and should be seen as an integral part of the region’s recent sporting success stories.

“Go Media understands what it takes to build community and customer experience. Their investment has helped to level up the game day experience at Go Media Stadium. Patrons will welcome the addition of this shelter and are already enjoying the benefits of the second digital replay screen that was recently installed at the stadium,” said Parkinson.

“We’re incredibly positive about the relationship with Go Media. It’s a locally owned business that is always looking for ways to support the local community.”

“What Auckland FC has achieved in its inaugural year at Go Media Stadium is incredible. The on-pitch results speak for themselves, but what has really impressed is the amazing fan support that has built up around this club,” says Gray.

“We’re huge supporters of football, rugby, basketball, cricket, netball, athletics, arts, culture, music, fashion, and events in Tāmaki Makaurau and are proud to have been a small part of Auckland FC’s success.

“We’re in business to give something back to the community and this shelter seemed like an easy, cool thing to do that utilised our outdoor public transport infrastructure skills to get it built. We hope many Auckland FC and Warriors fans go home happy and dry after their games because of it,” says Gray.
