WXV 1 Tournament

Wellington, Dunedin and Auckland will host three block buster match-weekends, featuring the world's top six international women's rugby teams in the inaugural WXV 1 tournament.

Tournament timeline and locations:

  • Sky Stadium in Wellington (20-21 October)
  • Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr Stadium (27-28 October)
  • Go Media Stadium Mt Smart, Auckland where the tournament winner will likely be decided (3-4 November)

Six international women’s rugby teams will play nine Tests across three cities in Aotearoa during the tournament from 20 October to 4 November, with each match weekend venue hosting a standalone Friday night Test followed by a Saturday double-header. 

The tournament will feature England, France, and Wales - the top three teams from the Women's Six Nations, who will be joined by the top three sides from the Pacific Four Series - reigning World Cup champions the Black Ferns, Canada and Australia. Elite women's rugby at its finest.

Yes you can. Apply to volunteer for this match here. We wouldn't be able to do what we do without our volunteers! And we are always looking for as many volunteers as possible. Volunteering can be a great way to get experience for your resume, and help your community out at the same time.  

There is no general parking available for major events at the stadium. There is limited amounts of parking available on the streets surrounding Go Media Stadium Mt Smart (please be aware that some streets may be closed for the event delivery).  

Local businesses will open their premises for parking during events  for a small fee. 

Yes, mobility parking is on a first come first serve basis. They are located in close proximity to an entry gate to ensure access is as easy as possible. The areas are as follows: 

  • Along Beasley Ave 
  • Overflow mobility parking: Inside the Main Carpark (accessed via O'Rorke Gate Stadium Entrance

Permitted Items    

  • A bag no larger than an A4 size of paper    
  • Sealed plastic bottle of water up to 750ml (lid may be removed on entry) * or empty plastic water bottle up to 750ml to fill up at free water stations.   
  • Small quantities of home prepared food such as sandwiches, baking or fruit    
  • Banners, flags (without poles) and posters no larger than A3 size.     

Prohibited Items    

  • Commercially prepared foods such as takeaways and soft drinks    
  • Chilly bins    
  • Cans, aluminium or glass containers, bottles or cutlery (this includes bottles of perfume)    
  • Alcohol or illicit drugs    
  • Air horns or loud hailers    
  • Furniture, chairs or stools    
  • Prams or strollers    
  • Animals (except for Assistance Dogs)    
  • Dangerous goods    
  • Video cameras and recording devices such as drones, iPads, tablets or Go Pros (cell phones are ok)    
  • Cameras with a removable lens, a lens larger than a regular watch face or cameras which may be deemed to be for professional use    
  • Selfie sticks    
  • Costume/dress-up full-face masks and helmets    
  • Large items that cannot be placed under the seat    
  • Skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles or scooters    
  • Fireworks, flares or laser lights    
  • Large poles for flags that could be considered dangerous or view obstructing    

 

Items that in the opinion of management/security could cause harm or nuisance to other patrons    

If in doubt, please leave it at home. Stadium Management takes no responsibility for goods surrendered.    

 

Items of value recovered after an event will be held at the stadium for 5 working days after which they will be handed into the Auckland Central Police Station.
