Join us on Sunday 11 June to celebrate the opening of the new athletics track at Go Media Stadium. Be among the first to run around the track!

Take part in a range of FREE events including:

  • All-Ages 4K Fun Run (Children U14 must be accompanied by an adult)
  • Children’s Long Jump
  • Children’s 60m sprint
  • Children’s 400m sprint

FAQ's

The course is in and around the Mt Smart Stadium area. The course is a mixture of concrete, gravel, and paved footpaths.

The event is free, but registration is required. Register using the form here.

There is car parking inside the venue. Entry into the venue is via the main Maurice Road gates, Penrose. Car park locations are listed on the map.

Mobility Parking: If you hold a valid mobility parking permit, please email bookings@aucklandstadiums.co.nz no later than Friday 19th May before the event to reserve a space.

You are welcome to bring a small quantity of home-prepared food such as sandwiches, baking or fruit, however, please note that commercially prepared food such as takeaways (KFC, McDonalds, Pizza etc.) and soft drinks / alcohol are strictly prohibited.

There are multiple water taps on site, locations are listed on the map. If you require water with you during the run, you must take it with you. BYO drink bottle is encouraged.

There is a limited number of seats in the Arena 2 grandstand. These cannot be reserved and are available for use on a first come, first served basis. The remaining areas are GA standing.

Folding chairs are not permitted. There is seating in the Arena 2 grandstand.

We will have St John Medical Services on site during the event.

Back check is not available for this event.

This event will proceed light rain or shine unless the weather conditions are severe. Should the event need to be postponed this will be announced on social media. Keep an eye on our Facebook or Instagram pages for updates.

The backup date is: Saturday 27th May.

We estimate the course for an average runner to take approx. 30 minutes to complete.

This is an all-ages event. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.

The 4k fun run starts at 7:30am sharp. Our marshals and wayfinding signage on the course will be lifted at 9:00am. You’ll have 1.5hrs to complete the 4k course.

There will be no road closures, all runners must stay on the footpath.

Racing wheelchairs are permitted for the track events

Unfortunately, the course is not favorable for running / walking with a pram. Baby carriers are welcome though if you wish to jog / walk the course.

At the finish there will be a race clock. Remember your time so you can beat it next year!
