IMPORTANT UPDATE - Saturday, 28 January (11.30am)

Statement from Frontier Touring, Chugg Entertainment, AEG Presents:

It is with a very heavy heart that both Elton John concerts at Mt Smart Stadium must be cancelled. Weather conditions at the stadium drastically worsened across the upper North Island last night leaving promoters, Chugg Entertainment, AEG Presents and Frontier Touring with no possible option but to stop Friday’s show from going ahead.
Auckland was subsequently declared to be in a state of emergency and we are now forced to cancel tonight’s show at Mt Smart Stadium. Promoters, emergency services and venue staff have deemed the event as unsafe due to surrounding flooding and continued disruptions to roads and patron safety across the city.

Check your email inbox junk and spam folders for communication from our official ticketing partner, Ticketmaster, regarding refund processes.

Elton John is deeply saddened by the cancellation of his last New Zealand shows on the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour:
"Following the instruction of the emergency services, we have no option but to cancel tonight’s show in Auckland.
Two years ago, I was devastated to have to reschedule my final New Zealand shows and was committed to fulfilling my promise of returning to say a final farewell. This is a very difficult decision which doesn’t come lightly and I’m so sorry to all my fans who bought tickets. Cancelling shows is always the very last resort but we have to think of my team, the venue staff and fan safety.
Vendors will be in touch regarding refunds and in the meantime my thoughts are with everyone in Auckland during this extreme weather. Please stay safe.
Much love,
Elton"

Elton, his team, Chugg Entertainment, AEG Presents and Frontier Touring extend their deepest sympathies to those that have been effected by this devastating weather event. Our thoughts are with those that have lost loved ones in this terrible time.

Refunds

Following the cancellation of Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road concerts at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium, most ticket holders will receive an automatic refund, but if your credit card is different now to when you purchased, or has since expired, the process will take a little longer.

How do I get my refund?

1.  For the majority of ticketholders, the refund will be processed automatically to the credit card used to complete the transaction and if you’re one of those buyers you don’t have to do anything.

Commencing Tuesday January 31, 2023, automatic refunds will take up to 7 business days to be processed and may take another 3-5 business days for the funds to appear in your account.

Please allow up to 14 business days in total for the refund to appear on your statements.

Automatic refunds can only be processed to the original credit card used to purchase tickets with Ticketmaster.  If you received your ticket(s) any other way, including via “onsellers”, you will need to contact the original account/credit card holder for your refund.

AfterPay
If you have made a booking using AfterPay, a refund of the total amount charged will be processed back to the card used with the AfterPay booking. For more information on AfterPay, please click here.

2.  If your credit card is now different to when you originally purchased your Elton John tickets, the process will be a manual one and may take longer for funds to be returned to you.

Firstly, the most important detail to understand is that only the original account/credit cardholder can request direct debit refunds. We are unable to assist or process refunds if this is not the case.

What to do if:

•    the credit card used to make the purchase has expired
•    the credit card used to make the purchase has been cancelled or the number has changed

Submit a request here and one of our team will assist you with your manual refund.

3.  If you have purchased tickets from the Box Office or an Outlet using Cash or EFTPOS, please complete this EFT Form then contact Ticketmaster here.

Given the length of time since Elton’s concerts first went on sale in 2019, a higher-than-normal volume is expected for manually-required refunds. .

Manual refunds will take extended time to process, and we’d like to thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

It will help us if you do not send in multiple requests, doing so will slow down our response times. If you have followed the instructions and submitted your request then it will be being worked-through systematically.

If you are seeking an update, try our Social Media team on Facebook or check our help pages for event updates, these will be updated regularly.

Please understand that given the extraordinary circumstances of Auckland’s unprecedented weather event. You can find lots of information and answers to your questions in the Ticketmaster information portal

Thank you very much for your patience.
