The Blues will take on the Sunwolves at QBE Stadium on Saturday 9 March. New Sunwolves coach, Tony Brown, has included some familiar faces into this squad. All Black international, Rene Ranger, has joined the Sunwolves for the 2019 season along with his Taniwha teammate Dan Pryor.

They will need to bring all their experience to QBE Stadium as they will be facing a Blues team with a lot to prove. 2018 head coach, Tana Umaga, will now assist new head coach Leon MacDonald following a review of the blues 2018 season.

The Blues have also secured the signature of All Black legend Ma’a Nonu. The addition of a player who made 103 test appearances for the All Blacks has to be a positive one for the Blues. The potential midfield partnership of Nonu and Sonny Bill Williams has quality and line-breaking ability written all over it, and their capacity to set the likes of Rieko Ioane, Matt Duffie and Melani Nanai free outside them is exciting, to say the least.

Kick off @ 7.35pm.
