Finally, Test match rugby league returns to Aotearoa's shores.

June 25, Mt Smart hosts as the Kiwi Ferns and Kiwis take on Pacific rivals Tonga, seeing the return of one of the biggest rivalries in international rugby league.

For the first time in nearly three years, Test match football is back home and at its best, as both nations are hungry to assert their dominance ahead of this year’s 2022 Rugby League World Cup.

There is no general on-site parking for this event. Parking is available on the neighbouring streets and many local businesses offer their premises for parking at a small fee. The following streets will be subject to parking restrictions and/or road closures:

Parking restrictions will be in place on Maurice Road, Beasley Ave and O’Rorke Road from 12:30pm to 9:30pm on event day. 

Road closures will be in place on Beasley Ave and O’Rorke Road from 12:30pm to 9:30pm on event day. 

MOBILITY PARKING 

Limited parking is available for holders of a valid mobility parking permit. Mobility parking is limited and strictly available for permit holders only. Please email bookings@aucklandstadiums.co.nz with your permit number to register. You will also be required to present your mobility permit to traffic control staff on the day for access - no permit, no entry. 

Travel to and from the venue on train is included in your match ticket. Rail will commence from 11.30am. 

Regular scheduled bus services operate via Great South Road past the Penrose train station. The 66 frequent crosstown service, 670 and 743 bus services travel via Mt Smart Stadium. Normal fares/passes apply for bus travel.

The Box Office will be open from 10am on game day at Gate B.

Food and beverage is available for purchase throughout the venue. Outlets will accept cash and eftpos. 

You may bring a small amount of home prepared food such as sandwiches, baking or fruit however commercially prepared food products, including takeaway meals or soft drinks are not permitted.  

A temporary liquor ban will be in place on the streets surrounding the stadium from 6.00am on Saturday, 25 June till 6.00am Sunday, 26 June.  

Mt Smart’s new Cafe, Garden Bar & Event Hub, Lilyworld will be open pre and post-match for drinks and meals. Direct access to the stadium is available from Lilyworld on presentation of your match ticket. 

Mt Smart Stadium is a SMOKE-FREE venue - this includes use of e-cigarettes and vaporisers. 

You can leave the ground and re-enter by being scanned out, but you will be subject to the same security checks on the way back in. Please ensure you retain your ticket for re-entry. 

At Mt Smart Stadium we go out of our way to provide you with a comfortable and enjoyable experience. In return, we ask you to respect our facilities and help contribute to an enjoyable event for all our patrons. To achieve this, we require all visitors to the stadium to meet the following conditions of entry. Please note, conditions are subject to change without notice. 

Patrons and visitors must allow authorised staff to search their vehicles, clothes, bags, containers or other possessions for items in violation of these conditions of entry.   

Any patron or visitor who refuses to participate in searches, appears intoxicated, under the influence of drugs or exhibits disorderly behaviour may be denied entry, asked to leave the venue and/or be trespassed. 

DRESS CODE

  • For safety reasons, footwear is to be worn at all times.
  • We do not permit gang patches or gang paraphernalia to be displayed.
  • No high-visibility vests or clothing may be worn.

PERMITTED ITEMS

  • Small personal cameras and camera phones are allowed. Professional cameras, or any camera with a lens larger than a standard watch face (or exceeding 4cm in diameter).will not be permitted.
  • One sealed plastic water bottle (up to 1 litre). Please note that depending on the security requirements of the event, the lid may be removed and discarded on entry
  • Disability assistance dogs.
  • Banners, placards and flags no larger than 1m x 1m without poles/sticks.

Stadium management take no responsibility for any damage to, loss or theft of a patron’s personal property while on stadium property.

PROHIBITED ITEMS - these items can not be brought into the venue:

  • Bags larger than 350mm x 300mm x 400mm 
  • Video cameras and recording device (this does not include mobile phones) 
  • Photographic devices with a lens larger than a standard watch face (not exceeding 4cm in diameter). 
  • Supporter flags or signs with poles. Flags without poles are permitted. 
  • Prams & strollers 
  • Selfie sticks

  • iPads or Tablets 
  • Cans or glass of any kind 
  • Strictly NO alcohol or illicit drugs 
  • Branded or commercial food and drinks, including takeaways 
  • Metal utensils, cutlery, etc

  • Dangerous goods 
  • Fireworks, flares, lasers or flash lights 
  • Knives, Tasers, Mace, Chains, Spurs or Studded Jewellery 
  • Offensive weapons including, but not limited to, any object that may be used as a projectile such as glow sticks, balls, containers, etc 
  • Air horns or loud hailers 
  • Umbrellas or other sun/rain shelters 
  • Furniture chairs or stools 
  • Skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles or scooters 
  • Animals (excluding service dogs such as guide dogs and police or emergency service dogs) 
  • Any other items deemed by stadium management or the promoter to be illegal, dangerous or a nuisance to yourself or others 

Please note that prohibited items will be confiscated and will not be returned. If in doubt, leave it at home. Stadium management take no responsibility for confiscated items.

DRUGS & ALCOHOL

At Auckland Stadiums, we maintain a strict 'no drugs' policy. Illicit drugs and alcohol are prohibited from being brought into our venues and if found will be confiscated at the gate and the patron(s) refused entry. Any persons apprehended with drugs in their possession inside the stadium will be escorted from the premises. Incidents involving alcohol or drugs will be referred to the NZ Police where the situation requires it.

Auckland Stadiums complies with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act and prohibits the serving of alcohol to intoxicated or under-aged persons. There will be zero tolerance for intoxication at Auckland Stadiums events. Those who arrive at stadium gates intoxicated will be refused entry into the event, and patrons who become intoxicated will be escorted from the venue. Intoxicated or under-aged persons who are apprehended with alcohol will be escorted from the premises. Persons supplying alcohol to underage patrons will be evicted from the premises and the matter may be referred to the Police.

  • As per the current Government Covid Orange setting, vaccine passes and scanning in is no longer required.
  • Face coverings are encouraged but not mandatory.
  • If you are feeling unwell or have any cold or flu symptoms, please stay home.
