Here is all the info you need to plan your afternoon out at the RLWC Tonga v England Semi FInal at Mt Smart Stadium.



Public Transport
Travel on trains and special event buses from the CBD and Northern Express bus services is included with your match ticket, subject to certain time restrictions and conditions. Click HERE  for details and to plan your journey. 

Drop Off
The best location for drop off is on Olive Road or Station Road.

There are no parking facilities available at the stadium. Businesses surrounding the stadium usually open their properties for a small fee. Please be aware that some of the streets within the immediate precinct of Mt Smart Stadium and the Penrose railway station will be closed or have parking restrictions to support the safe and comfortable delivery of special event bus and train services.
If you park on a road that is subject to a later road closure then you may be delayed from departing until the road closure is lifted, this could be as late as midnight.  Road closures and parking restrictions are listed below.

Mobility Parking
Mobility parking is available strictly for patrons who hold a valid mobility parking permit. Mobility parking will be located on Beasley Avenue.  Please present your mobility permit to traffic control staff for access.

Road Closures 
Beasley Ave – from 2.45pm to 10pm
Maurice Rd – from 2.45pm to 10pm
O’Rorke Rd – from 2.45pm to 10pm
Station Rd, Walls Rd, Bassant Ave, Botha Rd, Fairfax Ave, Olive Rd – from 6.00pm to 10pm.

Parking Restrictions
Beasley Ave – both sides from 5am to 10pm
Maurice Rd – both sides from 1.30pm to 10pm
O’Rorke Rd – both sides from 1.30pm to 10pm
Station Rd – west side (Walls to O’Rorke) and south side (Maurice to O’Rorke) from 1.30pm to 10pm. Parking restrictions will apply from 5am till 10pm on the east side of Station Rd (O’Rorke to Walls).

Gate Entry
Please enter via the gate specified on your ticket. View a venue map here.

Enter through Gate C on Beasley Avenue.

Enter through Gate D on Beasley Avenue.

Enter through Gate A on the west side of the Stadium (adjacent Maurice Road).

Please enter through Gate B from O'Rorke Road.

Wheelchair access is available via Gates B & C. Please ensure you have purchased accessible tickets.

Search on Entry
You and/or your possessions will be subject to a safety and security search upon entry. Prohibited items include, and are not limited to, the list at the end of this page. Confiscated items (i.e. alcohol, etc.) will not be returned, replaced or reimbursed.

Ticket Collection
Ticket collection will be available from 3.30pm from the venue. 
If collecting tickets at the venue plan your arrival in anticipation of queues. 
If scanning your ticket from your mobile phone,  please ensure this is downloaded prior to arriving at the gate and your mobile phone is set to maximum brightness.

A range of catering outlets will be available along with bar service.
You may bring a small amount of home prepared food such as sandwiches, baking or fruit however commercially prepared food products, including takeaway meals or soft drinks are not permitted. 

Stations with free water and cups will be available throughout the venue. You may bring a sealed plastic bottle of water (up to 1 litre) or your own empty plastic or aluminium water bottle (up to 1litre) to fill at the stations.

If we think you look under 25 or we are not sure of your age, we will ask you for ID. 
Acceptable forms of proof of age are an NZ driver’s license, NZ or overseas passport or the HANZ 18+ card. If you cannot provide proof of age when asked, we cannot serve you alcohol.
The venue reserves the right to deny entry to and/or evict intoxicated patrons or under-age patrons found with alcohol.

First Aid 
First aid will be available at various positions around the stadium. These locations are marked on the venue map.

EFTPOS facilities will be available within the stadium however patrons are strongly advised to come prepared with sufficient cash for the entire evening.

Mt Smart Stadium is a totally SMOKE-FREE zone. Patrons must NOT smoke within stadium grounds – this includes use of e-cigarettes and vaporisers. If you wish to smoke, you must retain your ticket so that you can be scanned out at the gate and scanned back in. 

The event will proceed rain or shine. Shade or rain umbrellas cannot be erected within the venue so bring a raincoat or poncho if rain is predicted.

At Mt Smart Stadium you can enjoy a world-class stadium experience.  The Stadium and its facilities are here for the use and enjoyment of a variety of visitors, patrons and public users.  As such, there is an expectation that certain standards of behaviour and presentation are adhered to by everyone to ensure an enjoyable environment for all.  To achieve this, we have the following conditions of entry that all visitors to the stadium are required to meet.

Dress Code
For safety reasons, footwear is to be worn at all times.
We do not permit gang patches or gang paraphernalia to be displayed.

Stadium management and its representatives reserve the right to request patrons to present any clothing, bags and other carried items for searching before you enter the Stadium.
If you refuse to present any of the requested items for searching, you may be denied entry.
We reserve the right to search vehicles entering the Stadium.
Entry will be refused if a patron is intoxicated or under the influence of illicit substances.

What you CAN bring into the Stadium
A bag that can fit under your seat, no larger than 350mm x 300mm x 400mm
One sealed plastic water bottle up to 1 litre
Small snacks such as homemade sandwiches, biscuits, small packets of chips, confectionery
Guide dog
Banners, placards and flags, no larger than A4 size and detached from sticks/poles. No items with corporate or inappropriate branding
What you CAN NOT bring into the Stadium
Chilly bins
Commercially prepared food including takeaways
Cans or glass containers
Alcohol or illicit drugs
Air horns or loud hailers
Furniture, chairs or stools
Prams or strollers
Rain or shade umbrellas
Animals. (except guide dogs)
Dangerous goods
Video cameras and recording devices (cell phones are ok)
Selfie sticks
Face masks
Photographic devices with a removable lens or deemed to be for professional use
Large items that cannot be placed under a seat
Skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, hoverboards or other skates
Laser pointers, flashlights, glow sticks, fireworks, flares or laser lights
Inflatables such as beach balls and balloons
Items that in the opinion of management/security could cause harm or public nuisance.
Stadium management takes no responsibility for goods surrendered.

Drugs and Alcohol Policy
Mt Smart Stadium complies with the Liquor Licensing Authority and prohibits the serving of alcohol to intoxicated or under-aged persons
Intoxicated or under-aged persons who are apprehended with alcohol will be escorted from the premises.
Mt Smart Stadium maintains a strict ‘no drugs’ policy, illicit drugs are prohibited and will be confiscated at the gate.  Any persons apprehended with drugs in their possession will be escorted from the premises. Incidents involving alcohol or drugs will be referred to the police where the situation requires it.
Lost, Stolen or Damaged Property
Stadium management takes no responsibility for any damage to, loss or theft of a patron’s personal property while on Stadium property.
Items of value recovered after an event will be taken to the Mt Wellington Police Station.
In order to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone, Stadium management reserves the right to deny entry or remove attendees who exhibit unacceptable or disruptive behaviour.  There will be zero tolerance for intoxication.  Those who arrive at the gates intoxicated will be refused entry and patrons who become intoxicated will be removed from the venue.
