Ed Sheeran Venue & Show Information

Please read below for all information you require to maximise your enjoyment at the Ed Sheeran concert at Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland.

GETTING TO AND FROM THE CONCERT
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Travel on trains and special event buses is included in your​ event ticket, subject to certain time restrictions and conditions. Ensure you hold on to your ticket for the ride home. Visit the Auckland Transport website​ for details on these services.
DROP OFF/PICK UP POINT
The best location for drop off/pick up is on Church Street (west of the stadium).
PARKING 
There are NO parking facilities available at the Stadium. Please be aware that the streets within the immediate precinct of Mt Smart Stadium and the Penrose railway station will be closed to support the safe and comfortable delivery of special event bus and train services.
Parking will be at an absolute premium in the outer industrial areas of the Stadium.
If you park on a road that is subject to a later road closure then you will be delayed from departing until the road closure is lifted, this could be as late as 1:00am.

​All of the below parking restrictions are active from 4:00pm Saturday 12 December until 1:00am the following morning:
  • ​O'Rorke Rd: no parking western side, bus ​parking eastern side, from Church St to Station Rd
  • Hugo Johnston Dr: no parking eastern side, coach parking western side, from Church St to the cul-de-sac
  • Maurice Rd: no parking both sides from Church St to Station Rd
  • Rockridge Ave: no parking both sides from O'Rorke Rd to the cul-de-sac
  • Station Rd: no parking both sides from O'Rorke Rd to Maurice Rd
  • Station Rd: bus parking southern side from Maurice Rd to Rockfield Rd
  • Rockfield Rd: no parking both sides from Station Rd to ​Edmonton Ave
  • Fairfax Ave: bus parking both sides from Walls Rd to Station Rd
  • Walls Rd: bus parking from Station Rd to Fairfax Ave

The below parking restrictions are active from 6:00am Saturday 12 December through until 1:00am the following morning:
  • Station Rd: no parking both sides from Great South Rd to O'Rorke Rd
  • Beasley Ave: no parking from Church St to the cul-de-sac
ROAD CLOSURES 
Road closures will be in place around Mt Smart Stadium from 5:00am Saturday 12 December to 1:00am Sunday 13 December. The following streets will be affected but if they can be opened earlier they will be:
  • Beasley Ave will be closed from 5:00am Saturday 12 December through until 1:00am the next day.
  • O'Rorke Rd, Rockridge Ave, Maurice Rd, Station Rd (Olive Rd to Rockfield Rd), Hugo Johnston Dr and Fairfax Ave will be closed from 3:00pm Saturday 12 December to 1:00am the next day.
  • Walls Rd, Olive Rd, Bassant Ave, Botha Rd and Station Rd (Olive Rd to Great South Rd) will be closed from 9:00pm Saturday 12 December ​to 1:00am the next day.​​

MOBILITY PARKING 
Limited mobility parking is available strictly for patrons holding a current mobility parking permit - no exceptions. 
Exit from the venue will be delayed up to an hour following the concert to ensure the safety of pedestrians. 
To request a car park pass please email info@aucklandstadiums.co.nz or call 09 366 2048.

​CHARTER BUS PARKING
​Charter bus parking is located on Hugo Johnston Drive. Bookings for this parking area should be made via the Stadium office on 09 366 2048. This parking is not available for motor home or camper van parking. 

​​TICKET COLLECTION & GATE SALES
Ticket purchase and collection will be available from 9am on show day only. This will be located at Gate B. 
If collecting tickets at the venue plan your arrival in anticipation of queues. Please be aware that road closures will be in place each day (details above).
Patrons are encouraged to collect their pre-purchased tickets in advance from a Ticketmaster outlet. If you have “E Tickets”, please print them in advance. 

There will be a large crowd so if collecting tickets at the venue plan your arrival in anticipation of queues.

​No ticket, no entry.

VENUE MAP

​UPPER EAST STAND, LOWER EAST STAND & EAST STAND LOUNGE TICKET HOLDERS
Enter through Gate C on Beasley Avenue.
Beasley Avenue can be accessed easily from O'Rorke Road and Church Street.

LOWER SOUTH STAND TICKET HOLDERS
Enter through Gate D on Beasley Avenue.​
Beasley Avenue can be accessed from O'Rorke Road and Church Street.

UPPER SOUTH STAND TICKET HOLDERS
Enter through Gate S on Maurice Road.
Maurice Road can be accessed from Church Street and Station Road

WEST STAND (COLIN KAY STAND) TICKET HOLDERS
Enter through Gate A on the west side of the Stadium (adjacent Maurice Road).
Maurice Road can be accessed easily from Church Street and Station Road.
An alternative route is also available from O'Rorke Road through the Stadium external areas to the west side of the Stadium.

​​GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET HOLDERS (STANDING)
Enter through Gate F – "General Admission", on the west side of the Stadium (adjacent Maurice Road).
Maurice Road can be accessed easily from Church Street and Station Road.
An alternative route is also available from O'Rorke Road through the Stadium external areas to the west side of the Stadium.
O'Rorke Road can be accessed easily from Station Road and Church Street.

​WHEELCHAIR TICKET HOLDERS
Please enter through Gate B from O'Rorke Road or Gate C from Beasley Ave.

SEARCH ON ENTRY
You and/or your possessions will be subject to a safety and security search upon entry. Prohibited items include, and are not limited to, the list at the end of this page. Confiscated items (i.e. alcohol, etc.) will not be returned, replaced or reimbursed.

 

VENUE FACILITIES
​FOOD & BEVERAGE 
A range of catering outlets will be available along with bar service. 
The tops will be removed from all purchased beverages to reduce the safety risk from full bottles being thrown.
If we think you look under 25 or we are not sure of your age, we will ask you for ID. Acceptable forms of proof of age are a NZ driver’s license, NZ or overseas passport or the HANZ 18+ card. If you cannot provide proof of age when asked, we cannot serve you alcohol. 
The venue reserves the right to deny entry to and/or evict intoxicated patrons or under-age patrons found with alcohol. 
By law NO alcohol can be brought into the stadium. It is ​also venue policy that no commercially prepared food products, including takeaway meals or soft drinks can be brought into the stadium. Sealed bottled water (1 litre) is permitted, however the top will be removed on entry. Metal utensils and cutlery are also not allowed. If in doubt leave it at home.

​FIRST AID 
First aid will be available at various positions around the stadium.

ATM/EFTPOS 
Limited ATM and EFTPOS facilities will be available within the stadium. Patrons are strongly advised to come prepared with sufficient cash for the entire evening.

SMOKING 
Mt Smart Stadium is a totally SMOKE FREE zone. Patrons must NOT smoke within stadium grounds – this includes use of e-cigarettes and vaporisers. If you wish to smoke you can be scanned out at the gate and scanned back in. Please retain your ticket for re-entry.

WEATHER 
The concert will proceed rain or shine, unless the promoter should decide it’s unsafe to perform. No shade or rain umbrellas are pemitted in the venue so bring a raincoat or poncho if rain is predicted.


CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
At Mt Smart Stadium we go out of our way to provide you with a comfortable and enjoyable experience. In return, we ask you to respect our facilities and help contribute to an enjoyable event for all our patrons.
To achieve this, we require all visitors to the stadium to meet the following conditions of entry. Please note, conditions are subject to change without notice.

DRESS CODE
• For safety reasons, footwear is to be worn at all times.
• We do not permit gang patches or gang paraphernalia to be displayed.

SECURITY
• Stadium management and its representatives reserve the right to request patrons to present any clothing, bags and other carried items for searching, including being subject to a pat down and/or a scanner search before entering the stadium.
• If you refuse to present any of the requested items for searching, you will be denied entry.
• We reserve the right to search vehicles entering the stadium.
• Entry will be refused if a patron is intoxicated or under the influence of illicit substances.

PROHIBITED ITEMS
• ​No backpacks or bags larger than 30cm x 40cm
• Video cameras and recording device
• Photographic devices with a removable lens or deemed to be for professional use 
​• Selfie sticks
• Cans or glass of any kind.
• Strictly NO alcohol or illicit drugs.
• Branded or commercial food and drinks, including takeaways.
• Metal utensils, cutlery, etc.
• Chilly bins.
• Dangerous goods.
• Fireworks, flares, lasers or flash lights.
• Offensive weapons including, but not limited to, any object that may be used as a projectile such as glow sticks, balls, containers, etc.
• Air horns or loud hailers.
• Umbrellas or other sun/rain shelters. 
• Furniture chairs or stools.   
• Skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles or scooters.
• Animals (excluding service dogs such as guide dogs and police or emergency service dogs).
• Any other items deemed by stadium management or the promoter to be illegal, dangerous or a nuisance to yourself or others.

Please note that prohibited items will be confiscated and will not be returned. If in doubt, leave it at home or in your car. Stadium management and the promoter take no responsibility for confiscated items. 

PERMITTED ITEMS
• Small personal cameras and camera phones are allowed. Professional cameras with detachable lenses are not.
Guide dogs.
• Banners, placards and flags no larger than 1m x 1m with sticks and poles detached before entering the stadium.
• Small quantities of home prepared food.
• One sealed water bottle (up to 1 litre) is permitted. Please note, lids will be removed at point of entry. 
• ​An empty water bottle (up to 1 litre and without lid) to use at the free water stations.
