Just 3 kilometres from downtown Auckland, the natural amphitheatre Western Springs hosts crowds up to 55,000 for concerts and festivals.

Sited across 10 hectares, Western Springs Stadium enjoys a variety of events in the main arena and outer fields, including regular favourites Friday Jams Live, Auckland City Limits and Taste of Auckland.

Recent concerts have included big names such as SIX60, Mumford & Sons, AC/DC, Fat Freddy's Drop and Billy Idol. Historical and unforgettable past acts have included David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger, KISS, Stevie Wonder and Eminem just to name a few.

Western Springs is home to Springs Speedway and Ponsonby Rugby Club.

Venue Information

Event Parking
There is no onsite parking for large events such as concerts and sporting events. During large events parking is available on the streets surrounding  Western Springs Stadium (please be aware that some streets may be closed for the event delivery). 

Mobility Parking

Onsite parking is available for patrons who hold a valid mobility permit. If you are attending a concert and require mobility parking, please email bookings@aucklandstadiums.co.nz with your permit number, event name and date and physical delivery address to register. Your permit will also need to be presented on entry. 

Mobility parking is limited therefore is strictly reserved for patrons who hold a mobility permit.

Campervan/Motorhome Parking
Campervan/Motorhome parking is not available onsite. You can locate nearby camping sites at https://campable.com/

Coach Parking
If you are bringing a group to an event by coach please email info@aucklandstadiums.co.nz to enquire about coach parking.

 

Wheelchair accessible tickets are available for all events. Please contact the ticketing agent directly to purchase accessible tickets. 

If you have had a change of circumstance since purchasing your tickets and now require accessible seating, please contact the ticketing agent directly to discuss options for changing your tickets.

For large events, travel on special event bus services is usually included with your ticket. Check the event page for details.

Authorised Sellers
Please only purchase tickets from the authorised ticketing agent. We cannot guarantee the validity or authenticity of tickets purchased from third party sellers such as Viagogo or individuals selling on Trade Me.

Is my seat covered?
Western Springs is an entirely open air venue. Umbrellas may not be erected within the stadium during events so if rain is predicted, please bring a poncho or raincoat.

Food and beverage outlets are located throughout the stadium.

Bar service is available at most events. If you are under 25 please bring identification if you wish to purchase alcohol. Accepted forms of ID are - Passport, NZ Drivers Licence or HANZ 18+ card. If we are unsure of your age and you cannot present ID, you will not be able to purchase alcohol.

Eftpos is available at most food and beverage outlets

You are welcome to bring in small quantities of non commercially prepared food such as sandwiches, fruit or baking. You may also bring a sealed plastic bottle of water (up to 1 litre) however please note that for most concerts, the lid will be removed and discarded on entry. These conditions can change from event to event depending on security requirements so please check the event page for the concert you are attending for its specific conditions.

Western Springs is an open air venue. Events go ahead rain or shine unless it is unsafe to do so.

Umbrellas cannot be erected within the stadium so if rain is predicted, please bring a raincoat or poncho.
